I first sought treatment at Acupuncture of Lodi in January of 2016 after suffering a migraine headache approximately once per week for several months prior to my visit. I was diagnosed with migraine headaches with aura by my primary care physician and was prescribed pain medication as a coping mechanism to deal with the pain that would linger for days at a time. I found that the medication not only failed to mask the pain, as promised, but also left me feeling nauseated, dizzy and unable to conduct my daily activities, much like the migraine headache did. Needless to say, I was desperate for relief when a friend referred me to Dr. Evans of Acupuncture of Lodi. I nervously scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Evans, without knowing anything about oriental medicine. Before my first visit I recall feeling anxious that Dr. Evans would wonder why a person without any knowledge about the treatment she is seeking would dare step foot into his office. However, my first meeting with him was quite the opposite. Dr. Evans greeted me with a warm smile and utilized our first meeting as a consultation to obtain detailed knowledge about the condition I was suffering. In addition, he explained the overall theory about how oriental medicine can heal various conditions. His vast knowledge of and passion for oriental medicine was evident after a few minutes into the consultation. Dr. Evans dedicated a great deal of time toward ensuring my comfort and understanding of acupuncture and to learning about how my condition affects my overall health so as to better tailor my treatment. His professionalism and kind demeanor further convinced me that Acupuncture of Lodi was the right place for me. I have treated with Dr. Evans for approximately 1.5 years now and have been virtually cured of migraine headaches. I cannot remember the last time I spent days in a dark room hoping the extreme pain in my head would subside. Dr. Evans has helped me to understand and treat the root of my condition, rather than simply masking it with pain medication, as is a common method for migraine headaches. I can honestly say I am a firm believer in the ability of acupuncture to heal and perhaps even cure a number of ailments. I highly recommend Dr. Evans to anyone suffering from a condition that has caused debilitating pain and discomfort and has affected his or her overall enjoyment of life.
